AGREEMENT
These terms govern your use of localsolarsystem.org and your purchase of Local Solar System products. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them.
THE PRODUCT
Local Solar System sells sets of engraved plaques that form a walkable scale model of the solar system. Each set is made to order: the figures engraved on your plaques are computed from the site measurement and units you provide, using the method described on the order page.
ORDERS
- Submitting an order through the site is a request, not a completed sale. We review every order, then confirm your figures, engraving proofs, and the total price with you by email before anything is engraved.
- The sale is final only when we send written confirmation and payment is received.
- We may decline an order at our discretion, for example if a specification cannot be produced; anything already paid for a declined order is refunded in full.
PRICE AND PAYMENT
Prices are quoted per order and confirmed by email before payment. When online checkout is live, payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store card details. Applicable taxes and shipping are stated in the confirmed total.
DELIVERY
Every set is engraved to order. Once your order is confirmed and paid, it goes to our vendor for production. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. We will let you know if production runs beyond that estimate.
CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS, AND DEFECTS
- You may cancel for a full refund at any time before engraving begins.
- Because each set is custom engraved with your figures, orders cannot be returned or exchanged once production has started.
- If your order arrives damaged, defective, or engraved differently from the confirmed proofs, contact us within 14 days of delivery and we will repair, replace, or refund it.
YOUR MEASUREMENTS
The engraving figures are computed from the site measurement you provide. Please measure carefully: we engrave what we confirm with you, and we are not responsible for errors in the measurements you supply. Installation of the plaques, including site permissions and safe mounting, is your responsibility.
ACCURACY OF THE SCIENCE
Planetary distances and diameters used by the calculator come from the NASA Planetary Fact Sheets, and light times are computed from the defined speed of light. The figures are provided in good faith for artistic and educational purposes.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Local Solar System name, sun mark, plaque designs, and the contents of this site belong to Local Solar System. Please do not copy or reproduce them without permission. The plaques you purchase are yours; the underlying designs remain ours.
ACCEPTABLE USE
Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access systems or data that are not yours.
DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The site is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Local Solar System disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules.
CHANGES
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when the order is confirmed.
